What Kind Of Brainer Are You?

Almost everyone is different in this world. Some people are creative, technical or analytical. How is it that when we look at someone that sees the big picture, we believe that they are a right brain thinker? It does fascinate me how certain thinking can put you in the right or left side of the brain.

The Left Brain

The left brain is connected with analytical, verbal and logical thinking. To be a left brainer is to think of things in a sequence or order. The left brain is said to be very linear. Those with the aptitude for mathematics or something that follows an order are said to be left brainers.

The Right Brain

The right brain is connected with visual, perceptual and intuitive thinking. To be a right brainer is to think of the big picture and process things very quickly. The right brain is opposite to the left and is very non-linear. The right brain is said to be familiar with processing complex information very quickly and in an unordered way. Creativity is said to be associated with the right brain.

The Whole Brain

Whether you are a left or right brainer, the goal for us all is to “combine” both sides and live with our whole brain. As writers and bloggers, we tend to work more with the right sides of our brains for creativity and idea generation. The trick to life is to utilize both sides to make our way through our daily lives. Stimulating or “exercising your brain” on a regular basis is a good way to work both sides of the old noggin.

The other day, I came across a little brain quiz on ries.com and thought I would share it with all of you. It is a quick and entertaining quiz to test if you are a left or right brainer. When I got done, it said I was a right brainer.

What does it say for you? Are you a left or right brainer?

Have something to say? Let me know.
