Do You Put Twitter On Your Business Cards? [Poll]

As a freelancer or small business owner, you need to have a good elevator pitch and a supply of business cards. Who knows when you might get an opportunity to pitch to a potential client. When you have the right pitch and information on your business card, you give that potential client a way to contact you for work.

I have also seen some put their Social Media profiles on their business cards.

I am now in the process of having my business cards redone and wanted to pose a question out to you. With all the ways to connect with Social Media, do you add something like your Twitter name to your business card?

I current have my Skype name, phone number, email, web site and physical address on my cards. I have seen other with their Twitter name on their cards but I am on the fence on this.

Making Money With Podcasting

When you create content for your blog or web site, you have many options to choose from. Some of the content that can be created is:

Writing
Photos
Video
Audio

When done correctly, any one of these types of content can be very effective in bringing in readers. That content has be information that people want to read or you will turn them off and away from your site.

One of these methods of content, audio or podcasting, has become very popular in the past few years. This is something I am actually working on now myself. I am building a new podcast series to come out soon. Many use podcasting as a medium to market their business, conduct interviews or just speak on things that interest them.

After creating that great podcast, many want to know how do they monetize it. Over on Mashable, there is a wonderful post on this very subject. Go check it out and use it in your podcasting projects.

What’s Your Biggest Question About Social Media?

I ask this question most when I speak with businesses and individuals about their businesses.

Social Media is all around us today in one form or another. More and more businesses are getting serious about using it. There are some businesses and individuals that I speak with, however, that aren’t taking advantage of social media. Without fail, these are the ones that ask the most questions about it.

I understand there are still many businesses and individuals that aren’t using Social Media, but I like to start with a bigger question than work my answers down from there. With certain topics, I like to use a top down approach instead of running around without some sort of direction.

Today, I would like to know what your question is about Social Media.

Social Media Tip: Provide Multiple Ways For People to Contact You

In Social Media, you need to get out and get yourself seen and heard. You need to build relationships and forge bonds with others.

One way of doing this is to make sure you have multiple contact points on your web site or blog. When you give out multiple options to make contact with you, you increase the possibility of making that connection.

The other day I came across a site I really liked and wanted to contact that person. When I went to their contact page, I only found a form to submit. Now I am not always one to sit there and fill out a form; this means others trying to contact you may feel the same way.

In Social Media, you want to have more than one way to capture those connections. You can do this on your own site by adding more than just a form. On my blog, I list out a form, an email address, my business phone number, my Skype ID, my Twitter ID, my Facebook url and more.

I want to connect and build relationships through Social Media and that’s why I have multiple ways for others to contact me on my site. If you want to capture more leads and build relationships, I would recommend you do the same.

Social Media Trends of Today and Beyond

I am a freelance writer, blogger, technologist and consultant. I do writing and web marketing for a array of different clients.

One of the things I offer a client is Social Media Marketing and promotions. Most of the time, I hear the same type of questions.

“Isn’t Social Media just a fad?”

“Isn’t that stuff just for teenagers and college kids?”

“Social Media will just die out like every other big thing, right?”

“I don’t get Facebook or Twitter; what’s the point of them?”

I usually have ways to show them how their business can utilize Social Media. Most of the time, they will move forward with some form of Social Media promotion campaign.
